PART VII: Use and storage
1. Measures and conditions to be applied when using and manipulating dangerous chemicals:
– Avoid breathing gas and/or mist. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Extinguish all naked flames. No smoking. Eliminate sources of ignition. Avoid sparks. Static build-up may arise during pumping. Electrostatic discharge may cause fire. Ensure continuity of current by connecting and grounding all equipment. Limit the line speed while pumping to avoid generating electric discharge (1m/s until the feed tube (pump) is submerged twice its diameter, then ≤ 7m/s). Avoid splashing when refueling (pumping). Do not use compressed air for feeding (pumping), suction, or handling operations.
– Protective equipment: masks, masks, protective gloves, protective shoes, acid-resistant clothes.
2. Measures and conditions to be applied when storing – Must be stored in a well-ventilated area, away from sunlight, ignition sources and other heat sources. Keep away from aerosols, flammable elements, oxidizing agents, corrosive substances and away from other flammable products which are not harmful or toxic to humans or the environment. This vapor is heavier than air. Be wary of buildup in niches and confined spaces. Vapors in the container should not be released into the atmosphere. Apnea should be controlled with an appropriate vapor handling system. Bulk containers should be surrounded. Static build-up may arise during pumping. Electrostatic discharge may cause fire. Close the container tightly when not in use. Do not use compressed air for filling, discharging or handling. Keep the ambient temperature below 23oC.
1. Necessary contact restriction measures:
The degree of protection and control required will vary depending on potential exposure conditions. Select a control method based on a risk assessment of the local circumstances. Appropriate measures include: Provide adequate ventilation in storage areas. Use systems that are fitted as tightly as possible. Adequate explosion-proof ventilation to control airborne condensation below exposure guidelines/limits. Ventilation is recommended for local exhaust ventilation.
2. Personal protective equipment when working: Personal protective equipment (PPE) must meet national standards.
– Eye protection: Chemical splash goggles (single goggles).
– Body protection: Use protective clothing that is chemically resistant to this material.
– Hand protection: Suitability and durability of gloves depend on usage, such as frequency and duration of contact, chemical resistance of glove material, glove thickness, flexibility . Always consult the glove supplier. Contaminated gloves should be replaced. When handling the product with hands, the use of gloves meeting the respective standards (e.g. Europe: EN374, US: F739) made of the following materials may provide adequate chemical protection: High: su nitrile, PVC viton. Personal hygiene is the leading factor for effective hand protection. Gloves should only be worn when hands are clean.
Foot protection: Safety shoes and boots also need to be chemical resistant.
– Respiratory protection: If engineering controls do not maintain airborne concentrations to an appropriate level to protect worker health, select protective equipment appropriate for the conditions of use of the instrument. possible and meet the applicable laws. When the respirator has an appropriate filter, select the appropriate respirator and filter. Choose a suitable filter. When respiratory protection is required, use a full face mask. When respirators with air filtration are not suitable (eg, high airborne concentrations, risk of hypoxia, confined spaces) use pressurized respirators.
3. Means of protection in case of incident: No information available.
4. Hygiene measures (bathing, decontamination...): After use, wash your hands thoroughly and dry. Use a fragrance-free moisturizer to wash your hands.
